Who is Helmet Man of India?

Raghavendra Kumar, popularly known as the Helmet Man of India, hails from a small village in the Kaimur district of Bihar and holds a bachelor's degree in law from Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida.

In 2014, he lost his close friend in a road accident in Greater Noida. His friend was not wearing a helmet at the time. This incident deeply affected him and became the turning point of his life.

Since then, he decided to go on a mission to raise awareness about road safety and started distributing helmets free of cost to two‑wheeler riders. Whenever he sees someone riding without a helmet, he gives a helmet to him or her.

He has been distributing helmets since 2014 and, as per his profile data, has already distributed around 77,000+ helmets across India.

"Whenever I see a rider without a helmet, I don't scold – I hand them a helmet."
